MOAPPP's 18th Annual Conference, May 7-8, 2009 was a great success!
The MOAPPP Annual Conference is the most comprehensive training opportunity for Minnesota practitioners on current research, science-based approaches, educational resources, policy initiatives and emerging issues related to adolescent sexual health, pregnancy prevention and adolescent parents. This year’s conference offered three keynote presentations, 25 workshops, 32 exhibits and a performance of the Youth Performance Company’s production, "The Boy Show."
Keynote presenters offered new perspectives on ways to engage boys and men in pregnancy prevention; ideas for managing community controversy; and strategies for partnering with parents in meaningful ways. Participants reflected a broad range of professions including school personnel, health care professionals, social service providers, government workers, advocates and students.
What conference participants said…
- I always enjoy coming. Everything about the conference is great—and fun.
- Excellent keynote speakers. Excellent to have speakers/info on young men. After all they are the other ½ of the equation!
- I am very impressed by the cache of speakers MOAPPP is bringing in—excellent, dynamic, engaging and challenging.
- Thank you for re-engaging me!
